Donations to the Friends of the Volpe Library Fund provides many opportunities to support our students such as:

 Student Worker Scholarships:

Volpe Library would love to offer a vibrant and growing opportunity for scholarships for our student employees. We understand we provide employment to some of the best and brightest students our university has to offer. Students from all departments at Tech apply and work within the Collections & Access, Archives & Special Collections, Administrative Services and Testing & Learning Center. They help the library keep our convenient hours, provide much needed resources and services, and learn skills that can be applied for their prospective majors and future employment. The scholarships may be in the form of one large fund or if you wish to create a specific scholarship in memory or honor of and individual (or more than one), we would love to work with you to set that up! Due to Volpe Library’s unique hours, we typically employ up to 125 students per academic year. If interested, we will also provide an opportunity to meet with the scholarship recipients at a Volpe Library hosted event.

Campus Food Pantry: Volpe Library Branch

Volpe Library in partnership with the Tennessee Tech Service -Learning Center, provides a food pantry to all students, staff & faculty in need. Smaller than the main Campus Pantry, the Food Pantry at Volpe Library is unique as it’s open 7 days a week and during the holiday break when the main pantry is closed. The Food Pantry at Volpe Library serves to address the rising concern of food insecurity and provides canned vegetables, to go lunches and breakfast items, other staple foods, and personal care items. With the rising cost of food and other important necessities, we have documented a rise in the pantry usage and have a working plan to increase the space and items available. Please consider donating to this particularly important service.

Student Tutors at The Testing & Tutoring Center

Volpe Library’s mission is to support intellectual discovery and student success. One of the most important ways we contribute to student success is through our Learning Center tutoring program. This peer tutoring program is free to students and offered in person and online. Tutors help students understand course material, answer questions, and offer suggestions for studying and learning. Tutoring is available in specific classes, resumes, standardized test prep, and study skills. Another benefit of our peer tutoring program is that it gives tutors job experience. We hire and extensively train our tutors while helping them become more career ready. Your generous gift helps support this tutoring program, which can significantly contribute to students’ academic and career success.
