One of the many ways the College of Education Foundation supports students is through study abroad opportunities. We have 30+ students participating in study abroad this year. Faculty coordinate these opportunities, and they are life-changing for students academically, personally and professionally. Many Tech students have had few – if any – opportunities to travel internationally. Studying abroad allows them to develop new skills, gain global connections, experience different cultures, develop new perspectives and step out of their comfort zones.

The College of Education will host trips to Malaysia, Ghana and Ireland this year. Dr. Nicole Henniger from the Department of Counselng and Psychology will lead the Malaysia trip where students will learn about science in cultural context including cultural psychology. Dr. Queen Ogbomo from the Department of Curriuclum and Instruction will lead the Ghana trip where students will work with elementary and middle school students at the Kopeyia School, focusing on math, science, English as a second language and more. Dr. Christy Killman from the Department of Exercise Science will lead the Ireland trip where students will learn international approaches to exercise science disciplines.

We want students to have enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom. Your gift to the College of Education Foundation supports these life-changing experiences.
