We support students with disabilities! Each year the Accessible Education Center (AEC) at Tennessee Tech serves approximately 700 qualifying students with disabilities. These students are provided with reasonable accommodations to ensure access to their college academic courses and campus life.
The AEC offers a wide variety of reasonable accommodations including but not limited to technology and software, ASL interpreting for deaf students, captioning, mobility orientation, braille, visual interpreting, tactile or 3D graphic materials, and more. We also provide academic coaching for students who qualify. Academic coaching assists students in navigating the college experience.
One of the most critical aspects of the AEC is coordinating and promoting a collaborative accessible and inclusive campus community. The AEC does this by:
- Developing quality educational programming and activities designed to enhance campus culture training and campus awareness programs
- Student outreach
- Professional development opportunities related to disability for students or staff
The Accessible Education Center professionals are committed to ensuring qualifying students receive accommodation and access to Tennessee Tech's academic, physical and digital environments and programs.
